DATA Privacy Day 2023

DATA Privacy Day 2023

Data Privacy Day began in the United States and Canada in back in January 2008 as an extension of the Data Protection Day celebration in Europe. Data Protection Day commemorates the January 28, 1981, signing of Convention 108, the first legally binding international treaty dealing with privacy and data protection.

Data Privacy Day has become an important conversation as we embark on understanding the importance of data and the impact it has on our lives.

The bigger conversation is around Data transparency. Data is internal in making the world safer. It allows for organizations to create relevant products and services to solve problems. It allows people to access information and make informed decisions. It assists in preventing and detecting fraud. Data transparency can help build trust between organizations and the public, as well as between organizations and their customers, and when it is used responsibly, it's an incredibly valuable asset.

This day is meant to raise awareness about the importance of protecting personal data and to promote the responsible use of data. It is also a day to recognize the importance of data privacy and to encourage businesses and individuals to take steps to protect themselves.

We join the conversation regarding the privacy and transparency and the incredible importance of both.
